Safeguarding Tomorrow: ESG's Intrinsic Role in Every Drop of Saved Water
ESG is not a new focus for Netafim, an Orbia company. It's been a steadfast priority well before the term became a buzzword. ESG represents more than a mere abbreviation; it stands for a commitment that companies must make to our world. It's about choosing the right and responsible path, even if it's tougher or less immediately profitable.

Environmental, social, and corporate governance is embedded into Orbia and determines how we run our business. At Netafim, our mission is to grow more with less because we know the world has limited natural resources that are rapidly being depleted. Our drip irrigation technology reduces water waste in agriculture – increasing water efficiency by 70% - by directly delivering water to the plant’s roots. We have seen unmatched success at fulfilling our promise of growing higher quantity and quality crop yields while conserving water use.
The world will have 10 billion people to feed by 2050. To feed the population we will have to grow more with less land and less water. ESG practices must be embedded in the work we do to meet our growing population’s needs. Now more than ever, we need to be mindful of how we are conducting business because every drop matters.
Too many organizations talk the talk about sustainability, but don’t walk the walk. Our commitment at Orbia is clear. We are squarely focused on solving the world’s most important challenges including water & food security, decarbonization & energy transition, and data & connectivity. In our Precision Agriculture Business, Netafim’s focus goes beyond saving water. We’ve optimized our manufacturing processes to recycle production scrap and water. We work with smallholder farms to provide them technology to drive sustainability at the farm gate. We pioneered the industry’s first and only fully circular dripline recycling program that was recently certified by SCS Global.
At Orbia, each employee contributes to our sustainability aspirations, both professionally and personally. In our Fresno site, we’re focused on eliminating the use of single-use plastic water bottles and coffee cups by providing glassware and coffee mugs to all employees and visitors. We believe that small actions can collectively make a meaningful and noticeable impact.
Netafim is proud to be a part of Orbia’s Precision Agriculture Business and a part of a team helping solve the world’s biggest sustainability challenges. All Orbia companies are working to accelerate positive change in their areas of expertise, transforming materials into greener, smarter, and more efficient solutions.
Working for Orbia makes me proud. It’s great to be able to tell my family of the good work we are doing. I know that we are taking strides today that will impact my children and children’s children tomorrow.
Financial results are important, but achieving those results in an ethical, responsible, and intentional way is just as critical. We care about sustainability because we are focused on doing the right thing for our customers, our employees, and all who share our planet.
